Biography:

Dane was born in Calgary, Alberta and first learnt to ski when he was three at Sunshine Village. Dane, following his big brothers lead, switched to snowboarding when he was five.  

Dane grew up in Canmore, at the base of the Canadian Rocky Mountains. Throughout his childhood he trained at Calgary Olympic Park with the Winsport training programme. He is now based in Wanaka and trains with Mitch Brown as part of the Snow Sports NZ Team. 

Dane has competed on the world stage for many years and achieved an impressive 4th in his first World Junior Champs in Big Air Leysin Switzerland in 2022. The following year he came 8th in Slopestyle in the same event in Cardrona.  

Since then he has been building toward the Olympics, chalking up 6th in the World Cup at Cardrona in 2024 (Slopestyle); 7th at the World Cup in Laax Switzerland in 2025 (Slopestyle); 4th in the World Cup in Aspen USA in 2025 (Slopestyle), 5th in the World Cup in Beijing in 2025 (Big Air) and 3rd in the World Cup in Snowmass USA in 2026 (Slopestyle).  

At the Milano Cortina Olympic Winter Games, he made both finals, coming 6th in Snowboard Big Air and 7th in Slopestyle – achieving two Olympics diplomas.
