Peak Respect 

The purpose of Peak Respect Snow-Pact is to set the standards of behaviours required by all people involved in Snow Sports NZ sanctioned events, to create a safe, fun and respectful competition environment. This will protect our people, our reputation and ensure that Snow Sports NZ complies with legislative requirements around safeguarding, and health and safety.  

All those involved in a Snow Sports NZ sanctioned event, including but not limited to athletes, coaches, officials and parents, will be required to agree and adhere to the Peak Respect Snow-Pact when registering for an event on the Snow Sports NZ website.  

For anyone else involved in a Snow Sports NZ event, we recommend you learn about and agree to the Peak Respect Snow-Pact via our quick and easy Sports Tutor e-learning module (link below).

Coaches Code

Coaches play a vital role in creating safe, healthy, supportive, positive and respectful training and competition environments for all athletes. This is especially important for young athletes.   

The purpose of the Peak Respect – Coaches Code is to ensure all snow sports coaches working in Aotearoa New Zealand have a clear and collective understanding of the standards of behaviour expected of them. It also aims to ensure those standards are applied consistently across all coaching programmes and all snow sports disciplines in New Zealand.  

Signing up to the code creates a collective safeguarding obligation, meaning it’s compulsory for all coaches to raise concerns or make complaints when they are aware of other coaches behaving contrary to the code. Failing to act on breaches creates a bystander culture that puts young people at risk ofharm. Early reporting ensures issues are addressed promptly and appropriately.
