Nico Porteous (Wanaka, 19) has claimed the bronze medal at the men’s FIS Freeski Halfpipe World Cup held in Aspen this morning. This is the final halfpipe event of the 2021 season and Porteous has landed on the podium at every event he has competed in this season. 

Alice Robinson (Queenstown, 19) has finished her 2021 season on a high, claiming first place at the FIS Giant Slalom World Cup Finals overnight in Lenzerheide, Switzerland.

 

New Zealand snowboarder Zoi Sadowski-Synnott (Wanaka, 20) has claimed her second medal at the Aspen 2021 FIS Snowboard World Championships.

Following an incredible day for NZ athletes at the Aspen 2021 FIS Snowboard and Freeski World Championships on Saturday (NZT) with Nico Porteous and Zoi Sadowski-Synnott both claiming World Championship titles, the action continued today at Aspen’s Buttermilk Resort with Finn Bilous finishing ninth in the Freeski Slopestyle finals.

In a huge morning of competition for NZ snow sports athletes at the Aspen 2021 FIS Freeski and Snowboard World Championships, Nico Porteous has claimed the men’s Freeski Halfpipe title, backing up Zoi Sadowski-Synnott’s winning performance in women’s Snowboard Slopestyle just a few hours earlier. 

Zoi Sadowski-Synnott has defended her title at the Aspen 2021 FIS Snowboard World Championships at Aspen's Buttermilk resort. She is the first person ever to defend a FIS Snowboard World Championship title.

Alice Robinson (Queenstown) has finished in second place at the FIS Giant Slalom World Cup overnight in Jasna, Slovakia.

Kiwi Alpine ski racer Alice Robinson (Queenstown) has finished in 10th place in the Super G World Cup held in Italy overnight, achieving her career best result in this discipline.

Cool Wakushima (Queenstown) has won gold in the snowboard Big Air at the Aspen stop of the US Revolution tour this morning.

Snow Sports New Zealand is pleased to announce that Garett Shore has been appointed as the Snow Sports NZ Chief Operating Officer.

Miguel Porteous (Wanaka) has won gold in the freeski halfpipe at the Aspen stop of the US Revolution tour this morning.

 

Alice Robinson (Queenstown) has finished in fourth place in the Giant Slalom at the FIS Ski World Championships in Italy overnight. This is Robinson’s top Ski World Championships result of her career.  

 

Kiwi Alpine ski racer Piera Hudson (Hawkes Bay) has finished in 12th place in the Individual Parallel Giant Slalom at the FIS Ski World Championships in Italy overnight, achieving her career best result.  

 

Kiwi Alpine ski racer Willis Feasey (Queenstown) achieved his career best World Championships result overnight, finishing in 28th place in the FIS Alpine Ski World Championships Super G.

The New Zealand Team for Beijing 2022 will be made up of up to 20 athletes, with those vying for spots including the likes of Nico Porteous, Zoi Sadowski-Synnott and Alice Robinson.

Zoi Sadowski-Synnott has continued her incredible season by claiming the bronze medal in the X Games Aspen Snowboard Big Air this morning.

Nico Porteous has won the 2021 X Games Aspen Freeski SuperPipe Gold medal tonight in Aspen, Colorado.
