The North Face® Frontier Freeride World Qualifier events kicked off today at Queenstown’s The Remarkables ski area. A heavy hitting field of 80 skiers and snowboarders enjoyed calm conditions and blue skies as they battled for top scores on the course venue in Shadow Basin.

Snow Farm near Wanaka hosts the Merino Muster cross country ski race on Saturday 3rd September.  School children will receive free entry to the 7km race if they are currently in a ski programme or school ski programme at any ski field around the country.

Coronet Peak, the official ski area partner of the New Zealand Alpine Ski Team, hosted the New Zealand Alpine National Slalom Championships on 10 August 2016. Click here to watch the highlights.

 Adam Barwood and Elizabeth Reid won national titles at The 2016 New Zealand Alpine National Slalom Championships hosted by Coronet Peak. 

Piera Hudson and Willis Feasey have been crowned national giant slalom champions for the third year running.

Cardrona Alpine Resort and Wanaka Ski and Snowsports Club played host to the first International Ski Federation (FIS) races of the Australasian season on Monday 1st and Tuesday 2nd August.

Snow Sports NZ is privileged to have been hosting Ron Kipp, Alpine Sport Education Manager for USSA, for the past two weeks.
