Third Place for Byron Wells at Canadian Open

Calgary, Canada (7 March 2015) – Cardrona NZ freeskier Byron Wells has earned a third place finish competing in the halfpipe at the Difference Capital Canadian Open Championships, presented by Audi Royal Oak. 

The March 5-6 event in Calgary at Winsport Canada’s Olympic Park featured some of the best freestyle skiers in the world.

First place went to France’s Ben Valentin (95.6) with the 2015 Winter X Games champion Simon d’Artois (94.6) of Canada second. Byron Wells (92.00) was third. 

Byron's top run included Left 10, switch ally oop 5, sw 7,  right 9, left dub 12. 

"I was really happy with how I skied and so stoked to come away with third," says Byron. "The pipe was amazing. I'm a big fan of Calgary and everyone there."
