As part of Snow Sports NZ's preparation for the 2018 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games Performance Director Ashley Light recently travelled to PyeongChang, Korea as a member of the NZ delegation to meet with the PyeongChang2018 organising committee and to visit the venues and village sites.
“While there is still much to do this far out from 2018 we concluded our visit feeling comfortable with regards to progress and with the assurance from the PyeongChang 2018 Organising Committee that they will be ready on time," reports Ashley.
"There is a tremendous amount of work planned for the refurbishment of competition venues and the build of new competition facilities. Development of the transport infrastructure is already underway. The people of PyeongChang are friendly and excited about the Games, and the area itself felt safe."
