11 athletes set to represent NZ at Park & Pipe Junior World Champs

Snow Sports New Zealand is proud to announce that there will be 11 athletes representing New Zealand at the 2022 FIS Park and Pipe Junior World Championships being held in Leysin, Switzerland from the 6 – 13 of March.

High Performance Athlete Development Manager Luke Hetzel is excited for the event to get under way.

“We can't wait to tune into the Junior World Championships in Leysin to watch our young kiwi freestyle athletes throwing down! They have all been working so hard, domestically and internationally, and we're excited to see how they stack up with the world’s best. We're likely to have one of the younger teams there, and I know our young guns will be looking to shake things up!”

The 2022 Junior Worlds will include freeski and snowboard halfpipe, big air and slopestyle. The majority of our athletes are coming into the Junior Worlds off the back of an excellent training camp in LAAX and Gustav Legnavsky has recently competed in his debut Winter Olympics Games in Beijing just two weeks ago.
