NZ School Team Victorious at Kangaroo Hoppet Cross Country Skiing Race

Wanaka's Mount Aspiring College team of Campbell Wright, Sammy Burke and Olivia Jones were the first placed schools team at the Kangaroo Hoppet Cross Country Skiing race at Falls Creek on 26 August 2017, repeating their success of 2015.

The Kangaroo Hoppet - part of the World Loppet series - is Australia’s premier cross country skiing race, with the 7, 21 and 42km events attracting just over 900 racers this year.

The 3 person team travelled to Australia on Thursday accompanied by Alison and Daniel Wright and with support from the Waiorau Nordic Sports Club, Snow Farm, friends and families racked up some impressive personal results in addition to winning the School Team Cup.
