Biography

Liam was born in Zurich, Switzerland and he skied with his parents in Flims, Laax for the first time when he was two years old. Liam lived in Switzerland for four years and took regular ski school lessons to continue learning to ski. He then moved to Singapore for two years before relocating with his family to Auckland, NZ on his seventh birthday.

Snow Planet in Auckland is where Liam got into freestyle skiing. He went skiing there, saw the park and was keen to try it out. He started following his big brother around and hitting the jumps and skiing over the boxes with him.

When Liam was 10 years old his family took a family holiday to Wānaka and he decided he would like to train with the Cardrona High Performance Centre (HPC). After spending 3-4 weeks with HPC he was showing awesome potential so Tommy Pyatt (Snow Sports NZ Coach) worked with Liam in the halfpipe for a few weeks during a spring camp.

He was recognised by the Snow Sports NZ National Development programme and in 2019 went overseas to Colorado to train and compete.

In the future Liam aspires to qualify for the Youth Winter Olympics and finish in the top five in all disciplines, compete on the World Cup circuit and qualify for the NZ Team set to compete at the 2026 Milano Cortina Olympic Winter Games.

Liam's big skiing dreams include Winter Olympic Podium, Winter X Games and Dew Tour podiums and featuring in a ski moving.

Liam is inspired by Ferdinand Dahl and Nico Porteous because of their awesome skiing style. He also admires Nico for his incredible results.
