Aidan Wilkins


Aidan Wilkins has been selected for the 2022/23 NZ Junior FIS Squad.

Disciplines:   Slalom, Giant Slalom and Super G

Home Town:   Havelock North

Biography

Aidan first learnt to ski when he was two years old at Mt Ruapehu, taught by his grandmother when he was a member of the Hawke’s Bay Ski Club.  At 6 years old he joined Ruapehu Snow Sports followed by Stockman Sports at Mt Ruapehu. 

Aidan then skied in Obersaxon in Switzerland with Grant Stockman for four seasons before joining the Sugar Bowl Academy in Tahoe for two seasons.  Aidan was a member of Queenstown Alpine Ski Team for two seasons and then spend three seasons with the Coberger Academy when he starting competing at FIS level.   

Aidan’s first major ski racing success was winning the North Island Primary School Champs. 

Aidan aspires to one day go to achieve less than 20 FIS points and represent New Zealand at the Winter Olympic Games.  Aidan’s favourite discipline is Super G. 

 Aidan represented Hawke’s Bay in the New Zealand Equestrian Eventing Champs in his youth and now plays polo in the off-season between fishing and hunting.
