Snow Sports NZ's High Performance Programme works with some of the the best snowboarders and coaches in the world. Our programme provides a progressive and structured approach to achieving performance goals and these goals align directly with winning at pinnacle international events. Our team approach aims to provide athletes with the tools, motivation and environment conducive to high performance.
The programme is delivered with the support of High Performance Sport NZ (HPSNZ) as snowboarding is one of HPSNZ’s Targeted Sports. We work closely with HPSNZ to identify athletes tracking towards podium finishes at pinnacle events to award them carded status.
Carding status grants our athletes access to performance support such as strength and conditioning, nutrition, athlete life advice, performance and technique analysis, physiology, psychology, injury and illness prevention and rehabilitation, and performance planning. Athletes also access financial support through HPSNZ Performance Enhancement Grants (PEGs) by meeting key criteria.
We strongly believe smart planning, solid support and a team approach will take each of our snowboard athletes to the next level of their development. The High Performance team currently has their sights firmly set on the Olympic Winter Games in PyeongChang in 2018.
