Chris Mosaed

Short biography outlining your interest and experience in Alpine Snow Sports

I have been involved in ski racing my entire life.  I have been the NZ National Champion in GS and SL, and a member of the NZ Ski Team.  After ski racing, I was the Program Director and Head Coach at Whakapapa or 9 years.  I have coached extensively overseas, in Europe and primarily in Canada.  During my time in Canada, one of my roles was working in development of programs and clubs.  After that period I worked with Provincial Teams, and the National Team in Canada.  After 17 years in Canada, I moved back to NZ and worked one season for the NZ Ski Team, before taking up the role of Program Director and Head coach at Team Hutt.  During this time I also was the NZ Olympic coach for Sochi 2014 Olympics.

What skills and expertise do you believe you can bring to the Alpine Committee?

I can bring an extensive knowledge base of alpine ski racing, and understanding of grass roots of the sport, as well as what it takes and requires to be the best in the world.  Now having a child of my own, along with my background in the sport, I can bring a new perspective as I endeavour to grow the sport and ensure its affordability and fun.  Also, having the respect of my peers, I am able to bring their knowledge and insight to what they believe can contribute to the success and growth of skiing in this country.
