Mat is a Chartered Accountant with a flair for numbers and snowboarding. Mat has travelled overseas extensively, passionately chasing snowboarding, hiking and waterfalls. He has a keen interest in the outdoors, the environment and in particular trees with historical significance. Since moving to Wanaka in 2013 Mat has worked hard to tick off as many New Zealand ski resorts and Great Walks as possible.
Mat has almost six years' corporate accounting experience but he has enjoyed swapping out the suit and tie for a board and boots at Snow Sports NZ. Mat manages all the finance and funding aspects of the organisation. This means managing the balance sheet, Board reporting, controlling the finance systems and protocol and keeping a strict eye on compliance. Mat is also responsible for gaining funding through community grants and charitable organisations.
