Mt Hutt has been Georgia's home away from home almost since the day she was born! She had her first trip up the mountain when she was only six weeks old, started skiing there just before she was three years old and now trains at Mt Hutt during the NZ winter. She was a keen skier from day one, storming down black diamond runs as a tiny tot, never complaining about the early mornings or lack of days off between school and training, and was clearly destined to be a ski racer.
Needless-to-say, Georgia comes from a family of ski enthusiasts. Her grandfather and father both ski raced and were members of the Canterbury and national teams. Georgia started training with Team Hutt when she was five years old. At the age of 15 she also began training with the Sugar Bowl Academy in California, USA and completed three seasons there. After finishing school she was a part of the post graduate programme in Steamboat Springs, Colorado.
Outside of skiing Georgia loves walking and adventuring around her home town of Christchurch. She loves cycling, going to the gym and adventure sports like dirt biking and jet boating with the family.
She is currently aiming to improve her world ranking by lowering her FIS points during the New Zealand season races. Georgia plans to start Canterbury University next year and will continue ski racing whilst studying.
