Adam’s career began with a school holiday programme learning to ski at Queenstown’s Coronet Peak ski area at the age of nine. He soon developed a passion for the sport and worked hard on his skills. Adam is now a full-time athlete and member of the NZ men’s Alpine Ski Team. He trains at Coronet Peak during the New Zealand winter and spends the Northern Hemisphere season travelling throughout Europe and the USA to compete.
Adam has represented NZ at the sport’s pinnacle events including the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi, Russia, the 2015 Alpine Skiing World Championships in Vail, USA, the 2017 World Champs in St Moritz, Switzerland and the 2018 Olympic Winter Games in PyeongChang, South Korea.
Adam finished his 2017 northern hemisphere season with three wins at FIS races in Aspen, significantly lowering his FIS points. He scored 10.08 in Super-G and followed up with a 9.80 and then 9.00 in GS .
Adam claimed the National Slalom Championship title in 2016, 2014 and 2013 and the National Giant Slalom title in 2013. He was named Snow Sports NZ Alpine Ski Racer of the Year for 2014 and 2013.
Adam's off-snow hobbies include mountain biking, reading and playing the guitar.
