Alpine skiing has changed over the past 150 years with great advances in ski equipment, technology and timing equipment but the essence has stayed the same.
New Zealand has a rich history of ski racing. The sport is run through Snow Sports NZ, the national federation for the International Ski Federation (FIS), under the guidance of the Alpine Sport Committee.
